Cecil, Madeleine who passed away on 3/31/2014 at the age of 89
Madeleine 'Molly' M. Cecil, 89, of Bristol, CT, beloved wife of the late
Norbert J. Cecil to whom she was married for 56 years, passed away
peacefully Monday, March 31, 2014 at Bristol Hospital surrounded by her
family. Born January 26, 1925 in Newport, VT, and raised in Swanton,
VT., daughter of the late George and Antoinette (Milotte) Messier.
Madeleine served in the U.S. Navy as a Flight Nurse during the Korean
War with the rank of LTJG. Prior to retiring in 1988, she served as a
nurse at The UConn Health Center in Farmington, for 12 years. Madeleine
is survived by her children, Kathleen R. Cecil & her husband, J.
Edward Smith of Great Mills, Maryland, Terrence J. Cecil & his wife
Roberta of West Hartford, Timothy G. Cecil & his wife Theresa
(Peltier) of Farmington, Maureen M. Estrella & her husband Daniel of
Bristol; her beloved grandchildren, Cody T Smith and his wife Shaine,
Garrett L. Smith, Carson R. Smith, Cooper A. Cecil, Griffin D. Cecil,
Colin T. McLeod, Malcolm S. McLeod and Arianna Estrella; her only
Great-grandchild, Remilia T. Smith; her siblings, A. Renee Daniel of
Vermont, Charlotte DeCampos and Charles Messier both of Manchester, and
Constance Cremer of Delaware and many nieces and nephews. She was
pre-deceased by her son, Terrence Lee Cecil. Friends may call at The
Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rte. 4, Unionville on Friday, April 4,
from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Funeral and burial with full Naval Honors will be
held Tuesday, April 8 in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial
