Bridgham, Cleo Willis who passed away on 1/21/2018 at the age of 98

COCOA - Cleo Willis Bridgham, 98, passed away on January 21, 2018 in Merritt Island, FL. She was born on November 25, 1919, in Little River, KS, to parents Fred and Lena Wernet. She was one of nine children, growing up on a farm in Kansas during the Great Depression. Cleo attended nursing school at the University of Kansas; upon graduating she joined the Navy and served as a nurse at Pearl Harbor. She met her husband George after her time in the service; he was a retired Coast Guard Captain who also served in World War II. Cleo and George raised their three sons before retiring to Florida in 1972. She also worked for Wuesthoff Hospital as an ICU nurse for 10 years.

She was predeceased by her husband George, after 50 years of marriage.

Cleo is survived by her sons, Steven, Larry, and Jerry Bridgham; daughter, Beverly Cornell; brother, Boyce Wernet; sister, Bijie Anderson; 7 grandchildren, Gary, Brad, Jeff, Amy, Callie, AJ, and Sam; and two twin great-granddaughters, Zoe and Kya.

A graveside service will be held at Brevard Memorial Park, Saturday, January 27 at 3 pm.
