Baker, Rosalind Jane who passed away on 6/24/2016 at the age of 94

Rosalind Jane BakerRosalind 'Jane' Baker, a long-time resident of Annapolis, died Thursday, the 24th of June, at Sunrise Assisted Living.

Born August 30, 1921, in Baltimore, MD, Jane received her degree in nursing, and joined the United States Navy. 

She became a Lt. Commander, and served in both World War II and the Korean War. She also worked in the pediatric ward and with newborns at the Navy Hospital on the campus of the United States Naval Academy. 

After she retired from the Navy, Jane worked for Tilghman's Jewelry on State Circle from 1972 - 1987.
Jane and her husband were longtime members of Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis.

Jane had a wonderful sense of humor, and impeccable sense of style. She loved animals and gardening. She also enjoyed sailing, traveling, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family. 

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Baker Jr. of Annapolis, MD who died in 2012
She is survived by her step-son, Frank Baker, III, of Renick, WV, his daughter, Michelle Baker, and her son, Wilson Vest, both of Asheville, NC, and her great-nephew, Keith Small, of Timonium, MD. She is also held in loving memory by her close friends, Becky Morrow and David Paad, of Annapolis, MD, Pam Keller of Rockville, MD, and Dolores Medley of Shady Side, MD. 

The family will receive friends on Monday June 27 from 11 to 1 at the Hardesty Funeral Home P.A. 12 Ridgely Ave Annapolis, MD. A Funeral Service will begin at 1 pm. Interment Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Online condolences may be placed at www.hardestyfuneralhome.com
