Donovan, Ann E. who passed away on 1/10/2016 at the age of 99
DONOVAN,
Ann E. Longtime Norwood resident, passed peacefully on Jan. 10, 2016. She was
99. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Francis X. and
Elizabeth (Breslin) Donovan. Ms. Donovan was a 1938 graduate of Mount Auburn
Hospital School of Nursing and a 1955 graduate of the University
of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Education.
She was a highly decorated Navy veteran, having served in World
War II, Korea and Vietnam, retiring as Lieutenant Commander. Beloved sister
of Eileen M. Hayden of FL, and the late Francis, James, Paul, Philip and
Raymond Donovan and Mary V. Shea. She is also survived by many loving nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service will be held on
Saturday, January 16th at 11:00am in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole
Street (Rte. 1A), NORWOOD. Interment with military honors will follow the
service in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be on
Saturday from 9:30-11:00am prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorial
