Buckley, Madelyn who passed away on 5/10/2014 at the age of 90MADELYN DAVIS BUCKLEY, 90, passed peacefully in her home in Spring, Texas on May 10, 2014, after cherished moments celebrating her life with her devoted family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who brought joy and comfort to everyone she met. Born September 6, 1923 to William A. and Lillian Logan Davis in Brooklyn, New York, she was the youngest of 6 children and is survived only by her sister, Evelyn Heaviside. After earning her RN at St. Vincent's School of Nursing in 1944, Madelyn enlisted as a Navy Nurse serving at the Naval Station at Pensacola, Florida, where she met her loving husband of 61 years, John Herndon Buckley. John and Madelyn relocated to Houston where she worked at St. Joseph's Hospital while raising her growing family. She attended the University of Houston graduating as a member of Kappa Delta Phi. Madelyn later worked as a school nurse for the Houston Independent School District at both elementary and secondary schools for over 25 years before retiring in 1981. She spent her retirement involved in charitable activities for the Church, traveling with John, and enjoying time with John, her adored family, and friends.
